About the Organisation

Yashwantrao Chavan Law College was established in June 1978. The College is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University on a permanent basis and is recognised by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. It has also received re-accreditation from NAAC and receives grant-in-aid from the State Government.

The College offers five-year and three-year law degree programmes and a two-year LL.M. programme. It is approved by the University Grants Commission under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

About the Journal

Spiritus Lege is the research journal of Yashwantrao Chavan Law College and bears ISSN 2582-1784. The journal aims to promote intellectual exchange and the growth of academic culture through the publication of original ideas and expressions.

The journal is inviting submissions for its issue planned for publication in December 2026.

About the Call

The journal invites submissions on contemporary and theoretical issues related to legal and political science, as well as socio-legal issues.

Submission Categories

Submissions are welcome from academicians, practitioners, students, researchers and experts from the intellectual and scholastic community.

Eligibility

  • Academicians, practitioners, students, researchers and experts may submit their work.

  • A manuscript may have up to one co-author.

  • One author must be designated as the corresponding author.

Submission Guidelines

Each article must provide a comprehensive overview of the issue, state the objective of the research, specify the research methodology, and include appropriate analysis, conclusions and recommendations.

The article must begin with an abstract of 300 words and keywords. The manuscript should be between 3,000 and 5,000 words in length.

The article must include the topic, author’s name, a short CV of the author, and contact details including email address, phone number and postal address.

Formatting Guidelines

The manuscript should be formatted in Times New Roman, with a font size of 12 pt for the main text and 10 pt for footnotes. The line spacing should be 1.5 for the main text and 1 for footnotes. The text should be justified, with one-inch margins on all sides.

The main title should be in Times New Roman, 14 pt, centred and bold. Articles may be divided into sections, sub-headings and sub-sub-headings.

The abstract should be 300 words, in italicised Times New Roman, 12 pt, with 1.15 line spacing and justified alignment. Up to five keywords may be included.

Citation Style

Submissions must follow the SILC citation style.

Peer Review

The journal description states that Spiritus Lege is double-blind peer-reviewed. The review process section states that submissions will undergo single-blind peer review. Authors may be required to make revisions based on reviewers’ comments.

The review process may take one week. Authors will be notified of the acceptance, rejection or need for revision of their manuscript.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is allowed up to 10%. Any form of plagiarism beyond this limit will result in immediate rejection of the manuscript. Authors are required to submit a plagiarism report along with the manuscript and declaration.

Publication Details

The selected submissions are intended for publication in the December 2026 issue of Spiritus Lege.
