Call for Papers: Panjab University Law Review [Vol. 65, Part 1]

The Panjab University Law Review (PULR) is inviting submissions for Volume 65, Part 1, covering January–June 2026.

Legal professionals, teachers, academicians and research scholars from India and abroad may contribute research papers, review articles, case comments and book reviews. The online submission window will remain open from October 16 to October 31, 2026.

About the Journal

PULR is a half-yearly, peer-reviewed and refereed journal published by the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The journal has been published since 1951 and has circulation in India and abroad. It has been a refereed journal since Volume 50.

PULR publishes original legal research as well as interdisciplinary scholarship connected with law. Contributions are reviewed by experts before publication.

Theme/Topics

The announcement for Volume 65, Part 1 does not prescribe a specific theme. Authors may submit original work dealing with legal issues or interdisciplinary subjects that have a clear connection with law. The journal also considers scholarship drawing from areas such as economics, commerce, political science and sociology.

Publication Types

  1. Research Paper/Review Article: 5,000–6,000 words
  2. Book Review: Around 2,500 words
  3. Case Comment: Around 3,000 words

The prescribed word limits are inclusive of footnotes.

The journal states that manuscripts should demonstrate originality of theme, novelty of subject, clarity of ideas, systematic presentation and a clear connection between the analysis and conclusion.

Co-authorship is permitted for up to three authors. An author may make only one submission, whether individually or jointly.

How to Submit

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Open Journal System (OJS) during the announced submission window.

Author Guidelines

Authors should follow the official PULR submission guidelines and use the prescribed manuscript template.

Each submission must be accompanied by:

  • A covering letter containing the name of the author(s), designation, institutional affiliation, manuscript title, postal address, email address and mobile number.
  • A plagiarism report/certificate generated through recognised similarity-checking software such as Urkund or Turnitin.
  • A declaration confirming that the manuscript is original and has neither been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere.
  • An abstract of 200–250 words.
  • Three to five keywords.

Preparation Checklist

Submissions containing more than 10% plagiarism will not be accepted.

Manuscripts must be written in British English and submitted in MS Word format. The main text should use Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5-line spacing, justified alignment and one-inch margins on all sides. Footnotes should use Times New Roman, font size 10.

As the journal follows a blind peer-review process, the author’s name, institutional affiliation and other identifying information should not appear in the manuscript itself.

Legal citations must follow the Bluebook, 19th edition. Bibliographic details of works cited should also be provided separately and arranged alphabetically.

Tables, graphs and figures, where used, should be numbered consecutively. Their titles should appear above them, and sources should be mentioned below.

Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee publication. The Editorial Board makes the final decision regarding acceptance.

Fee

The guidelines further state that contributors whose work is published will be charged Rs. 500 for a published copy of the journal, while an electronic copy of the paper will be provided free of cost. Authors can track the status of their submissions through the online journal system.

Important Dates and Deadlines

  • Authors are requested to prepare manuscripts by October 15, 2026
  • Online submission window opens: October 16, 2026
  • Last date for online submission: October 31, 2026

Authors should note that October 15 is not the submission deadline. The official announcement asks contributors to prepare their manuscripts by that date, while online submissions begin on October 16.
