Supreme Court Collegium recommends appointment of 4 advocates as Orissa High Court judges

The Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday recommended the appointment of 4 advocates as judges of the Orissa High Court.

Following a meeting held on August 18, the Collegium approved proposals for appointment of the following advocates as judges:

(i) Sasmita Tripathy

(ii) Aditya Narayan Das

(iii) Rajjeet Roy

(iv) Gautam Misra

The Orissa High Court is currently functioning with only 17 active judges, with 2 judges, including Chief Justice Harish Tandon, set to retire this year.

The High Court’s sanctioned judge strength is 33.
