A Free Crossref DOI with Every Published Paper
IJLMH is a registered Crossref member with the DOI prefix 10.63108. Every manuscript accepted for publication is assigned a permanent, citable Digital Object Identifier at no cost to the author. There is no separate DOI fee, and no optional upgrade to pay for.
What this means for your paper:
- A permanent link. Your DOI resolves to your paper for good, so a citation to it never breaks, even if a URL later changes.
- Your references are deposited too. IJLMH deposits the full reference list of every paper with Crossref, so your work enters the global citation network on the day it is published and the sources you cite are formally linked to you.
- Recognised by institutions and funders. A Crossref DOI is the identifier that university repositories, promotion committees, funding bodies and indexing services expect to see against a published article.
- Better discoverability. Crossref metadata feeds discovery tools and reference managers used by researchers worldwide, alongside our own OAI-PMH feed and the databases in which the Journal is indexed.
Please note the difference between a Crossref DOI and a lookalike identifier. Not every identifier described as a “DOI” is registered with a DOI Registration Agency. Crossref is one of the Registration Agencies appointed by the International DOI Foundation, and the prefix 10.63108 is allocated to us by Crossref.
You can verify any IJLMH DOI yourself. It opens at doi.org, the official resolver at which every registered DOI opens, and its metadata is publicly searchable at search.crossref.org and through the open Crossref API, which is what indexing services, university repositories and reference managers read. An identifier that opens only through a private lookalike resolver domain, and cannot be found at doi.org or in the Crossref database, is not a registered DOI and does not carry the same recognition.
IJLMH was the first privately run Indian law journal to institute a free-DOI policy, and has since upgraded that policy to full Crossref registration.
