About the Journal

Legal Wisdom is a bi-annual, blind peer-reviewed/referred journal issued by Siddhartha Law College, Dehradun. The journal aims to foster communication among scholars, provide a platform for practical and theoretical ideas, and document emerging legal knowledge.

The objective of the journal is to contribute original, outstanding, and socially relevant research to the field of law.

Theme

The journal does not restrict submissions to a specific theme. However, the research paper must address a contemporary legal or socio-legal issue that is relevant in the present time. Authors are expected to demonstrate originality in their approach.

Submissions may address contemporary issues and challenges before the Indian legal system.

Submission Categories

• Research papers: 3,000–5,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
• Case comments: 2,000–3,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.
• Book reviews: 1,000–2,000 words, exclusive of footnotes.

Eligibility

• Submissions must be in English.
• Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of two authors.
• The paper must have a plagiarism level of not more than 10%.
• AI detection must be zero.

Submission Guidelines

Every submission must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 300 words.

A Turnitin or DrillBit plagiarism report must be submitted along with the paper. Papers submitted without the report will not be considered by the review committee.

The submission must be accompanied by a separate MS Word document containing the name, affiliation and designation, mailing address, mobile number, and email address of the author. Where there is more than one author, the details of the corresponding author must also be provided in the same email.

Authors must clearly state their personal details, including the correct spelling of their name, titles such as Mr., Ms., Mrs., Dr., or Advocate, and the name of their affiliated institution.

Formatting Guidelines

Submissions must follow these formatting requirements:

• Font: Times New Roman.
• Title: 14-point font.
• Body text: 12-point font with 1.5 line spacing and justified alignment.
• Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
• Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10-point font, with 1.0 line spacing.
• Endnotes are not allowed. Citations must follow the ILI citation pattern and the ILI rules of footnoting.

Publication Charges

• No publication fee will be charged.
