How did you apply?

I got to know about the internship opportunity through a reference. After learning more about the work and litigation exposure available under Advocate Ruchi Gupta, I applied for the internship with great enthusiasm and was fortunate to receive the opportunity to intern for one month.

The internship provided me with practical exposure to legal work and helped me understand the functioning of litigation in a real professional setting.

First-Day Formalities, Infrastructure, and First Impression

On the first day of the internship, the basic formalities and introductions were completed, followed by a detailed interaction regarding the nature of the work and the expectations during the internship.

The overall atmosphere was professional, disciplined, and highly learning-oriented, which created a very positive first impression.

The office environment was well-organized and professional, providing a comfortable and conducive space for learning and working.

Observing the practical aspects of legal proceedings and gaining an understanding of how various matters are handled in a professional setting was a valuable experience from the very beginning.

Main Tasks

During the internship, I was assigned a variety of practical legal tasks that enhanced my understanding of litigation and legal procedures. The key tasks and learning experiences included:

• Conducting legal research prior to civil suit hearings by studying relevant case laws, statutory provisions, and factual aspects of the matters.
• Learning the process of preparing and reviewing case lists, as well as understanding the procedural requirements to be fulfilled before hearings.
• Assisting in the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, which helped improve my drafting skills, precision, and attention to detail.
• Conducting research on various legal issues and matters, which strengthened my analytical abilities, legal reasoning, and understanding of applicable laws.

Work Environment

The work environment was professional, interactive, and encouraging. Guidance and support were provided whenever required, which made the learning process smoother, more engaging, and productive.

The internship offered a balanced combination of practical exposure and independent learning. It enabled me to gain a better understanding of legal procedures while also highlighting the importance of discipline, thorough preparation, and effective legal research in litigation practice.

Good Things about the Internship

The most valuable aspect of the internship was the practical exposure it provided. I had the opportunity to understand how legal research is conducted prior to civil suit hearings and how drafting and procedural work are carried out in actual legal practice.

The internship also helped me enhance my legal research, drafting, and analytical skills. Observing the professional handling of cases provided me with a clearer understanding of litigation practice, case preparation, and the importance of thorough preparation before court proceedings.

Overall, the internship was a highly informative and enriching experience that contributed significantly to my academic and professional growth. It helped me bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application in the field of law.

Bad Things about the Internship

At times, managing multiple tasks simultaneously could be challenging due to the workload. However, these experiences helped me develop better time-management skills and taught me how to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
