Saveetha School of Law (SSL), Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), is organising a National Conference on “Fintech Law and Tax Regulation: Emerging Jurisprudence in the Digital Economy”.

About the Conference

The conference will examine the evolving intersection of financial technology, legal frameworks and taxation in the digital economy. It will explore regulatory, legal and taxation challenges arising from developments in digital payments, cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence and emerging financial services.

The conference will also examine emerging jurisprudence, regulatory approaches, consumer protection, data privacy, financial inclusion and tax compliance within the fintech ecosystem.

It aims to facilitate academic and professional dialogue among academicians, legal practitioners, policymakers, tax professionals, financial experts, industry professionals and research scholars.

Theme

The broad themes of the conference include:

  • FinTech and Financial Regulation: Legal frameworks for digital finance, RBI regulations, payment systems and regulatory innovation.
  • Digital Taxation: Emerging tax jurisprudence, GST, income tax, platform economies and cross-border taxation.
  • AI, Blockchain and Financial Law: Smart contracts, AI accountability, RegTech and blockchain-based evidence.
  • Virtual Digital Assets: Cryptocurrency taxation, AML/KYC compliance, consumer protection and regulatory approaches.
  • Data Protection and Cybersecurity: Financial data governance, privacy, cyber fraud, digital payment disputes and consumer remedies.
  • Constitutional and International Perspectives: Federalism, global financial standards, digital sovereignty and future regulatory reforms.

Eligibility

  • Researchers, academicians, legal practitioners, professionals and students are invited to submit their research papers.

Submission Guidelines

Abstract Submission

Abstracts must be 200–300 words long and must include the title, author or authors, affiliation and contact information.

Prepare the abstract in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with centred alignment and 1-inch margins.

Full Paper Submission

Full papers must be 2,000–3,000 words long and include the following sections: title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results or analysis, discussion, conclusion and references.

Full papers should be prepared in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing. Submissions must be made in .doc or .docx format.

Formatting Guidelines

Authors may use either the Bluebook, 21st edition, or APA style in the form of footnotes for referencing.

Presentations should be between 5 and 7 minutes.

Publication Details

Selected researchers will subject the research papers to peer review and subsequently publish them in an ISBN-assigned publication.

  • Postgraduates: ₹400
  • Academicians and Professionals: ₹500
  • Co-author: ₹100. A maximum of one co-author is permitted.

  • Undergraduates: ₹150
  • Postgraduates: ₹250
  • Academicians and Professionals: ₹350
