The Integral Law Review is the flagship legal periodical of the Faculty of Law, Integral University, Lucknow. Founded in January 2022, the Journal seeks to promote rigorous, interdisciplinary and socio-legal scholarship and to contribute constructively to the legal fraternity.

The Integral Law Review is an annual, peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing original research on contemporary legal and socio-legal issues. The Journal promotes scholarship that examines law in its social, political, technological and ethical contexts, with a focus on intersectional legal inquiry.

About the Call

The Editorial Board of the Integral Law Review invites original and unpublished manuscripts for Volume VI. Contributions are invited from law students, academics, practitioners, judges and policy researchers.

Theme

There is no thematic restriction. Submissions are welcome across every field of law, provided they are anchored in rigorous legal analysis.

The Journal especially encourages interdisciplinary manuscripts connecting law with technology, global politics, the sciences, public policy, history, management, philosophy, psychology and other disciplines.

All submissions must be in English.

Submission Categories

  • Academic Articles: 3,000–6,000 words
  • Short Academic Essays: 2,500–4,500 words
  • Case Comments: 1,500–3,000 words
  • Review of Law and Treaty: 1,500–3,000 words
  • Book Reviews: 900–1,500 words
  • Photo Essays: Minimum 10 pictures with 2,000 words of supporting text

Eligibility

  • Law students, academics, practitioners, judges and policy researchers may submit.
  • Submissions will be considered based on the strength of their ideas and the rigour of their analysis, irrespective of the author’s background, position or affiliation.
  • Co-authorship is limited to two authors.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions must be made electronically in Microsoft Word format and sent to integrallawreview@gmail.com with the subject line “Submission – Integral Law Review”.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 350 words containing at least three keywords.

The submission must also include a covering email mentioning the author’s name and the name of the institution or organisation. The manuscript itself must be anonymised and must not contain the author’s name or any other identifying information.

Authors are expected to use professional language and avoid foul or defamatory content. Submissions containing up to 15% AI-generated content will be accepted for the review process.

Formatting Guidelines

The main text must be in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. Footnotes must be in Times New Roman, font size 10, with single line spacing. Authors must follow the OSCOLA citation format.

Peer Review and Publication

The Integral Law Review follows a double-blind peer-review process under which the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential from one another.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication between co-authors and the Journal and must confirm in the email that all authors have been included in the author list and are aware of the submission.

The corresponding author must also confirm that the references and citations are accurate, that the manuscript does not infringe copyright or contain defamatory material, and that the manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.

The manuscript must not be submitted elsewhere while it is under consideration by the Integral Law Review.

The Board of Editors may modify a manuscript to maintain the standards and quality of the submission. In case of any conflict, the decision of the Board of Editors will be final.

The Journal communicates its decision regarding publication within 30 days of submission. Accepted submissions are processed, published and distributed in April.

Publication Charges

  • No fees are charged at any stage of the submission, review or publication process.
