About the Organisers

Christ Academy Institute of Law (CAIL) is a Premier institution in Bengaluru affiliated with Karnataka State Law University, managed by Carmelites of Mary Immaculate. Focus on nurturing socially responsible legal professionals. The Academic Outreach Committee promotes interdisciplinary academic engagement.

The Centre for Law & Environment fosters environmental legal education and research. Centre for Environmental Law, Education, Research and Advocacy (CEERA), NLSIU is a premier environmental law research centre supported by Government bodies.

Engages in capacity building, policy research, and training of various stakeholders in environmental law.

About the Call for Papers

The Two-Day International Collegium on ESG is scheduled for November 23–24, 2026, in hybrid mode.

It invites original and unpublished research paper abstracts from academicians, practitioners, policymakers, legal and corporate professionals, and researchers from law and interdisciplinary fields to critically examine evolving ESG issues.

Selected participants who submit accepted abstracts must register by paying a fee and will present their papers. Select papers will be published in an edited volume with ISBN, provided sufficient quality submissions are received. The best paper presentation receives a ₹5,000 cash prize and a certificate of merit.

Themes

  • ESG and Corporate Governance: Board responsibilities, stakeholder governance, accountability, shareholder activism, ethics, greenwashing, etc.
  • ESG Regulation and Legal Frameworks: ESG regulation in India and comparative jurisdictions, SEBI norms, company law, mandatory vs voluntary standards, disclosures, transnational aspects.
  • Environmental and Social Dimensions: Climate change, biodiversity, climate justice, human rights, labour, community rights, social impact.
  • ESG, Finance, Markets and Supply Chains: ESG investing, green bonds, ratings, supply-chain management, due diligence, multinational enterprises.
  • Emerging Issues and Future of ESG: AI and technology, data quality, ESG litigation, public policy, comparative perspectives.

Eligibility

  • Open to all interested participants including academicians, researchers, legal and corporate professionals, policymakers, and civil society members from law and non-law backgrounds with an interest in ESG.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Submit a 200–250 word abstract in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) format via abstract submission link given at the end of the post by October 15, 2026.
  • Abstract must include title, participant details (name, designation, institution, contact), sub-theme, abstract text, and 5–6 keywords. Maximum one co-participant allowed.
  • Abstract submission confirms the originality and accuracy of the information.
  • Registration for presentation opens post abstract acceptance.

Fee Structure

Registration Fee: ₹1,500 for all participants.

Publication

  • Selected papers will be published in an edited volume with ISBN. Hard copies available at additional cost post-publication.
