UFBU had approached the High Court seeking permission to hold a peaceful dharna at Jantar Mantar on September 28, 29 and 30.
The petition challenged the police’s denial and delay in granting permission for the proposed demonstrations. They said that if permission to protest at Jantar Mantar cannot be given, they should be allowed to hold the dharna at an alternate location.
