Edwin Coe rolls out Legora as Brandsmiths launches iManage Knowledge Work

Last week saw the announcements that leading independent London law firm Edwin Coe has rolled out Legora firm-wide, across 14 of the firm’s practice groups and UK-based intellectual property (IP) law firm Brandsmiths has adopted the iManage knowledge work platform for document, email and knowledge management, with the platform implemented and supported by leading iManage Partner Tiger Eye.

Profile imageEdwin Coe practises from Lincoln’s Inn, and specialises in dispute resolution, private capital, and cross-border matters. It is a certified B Corporation and a member of Ally Law, the global legal services network. Responsibility for the rollout sits with Wings Turkington, the firm’s head of knowledge and innovation, who is taking each practice group through its own training rather than running a general session for the firm. The platform went live in July following a five-week pilot earlier in the year.

“Edwin Coe came to AI relatively recently, and rolling out Legora across the firm after a five-week pilot is a significant step given our size and heritage,” said Turkington. “Engagement has been notably strong across our practice groups, which reflects the progressive and agile approach we take to adopting technologies that best serve our people and our clients.”

Legora’s agentic operating system is used at the firm for research, review and drafting. The agent takes a piece of work through its stages rather than answering one question at a time: reviewing a document set and building a chronology from it, turning client correspondence into a structured fact set ahead of trial, running due diligence, and producing first drafts from the firm’s own documents.

Profile image“A construction dispute and a tax enquiry need very different work done, and the legal professionals are not required to understand the exact part of Legora to reach for,” said Alex Fortescue-Webb, Global Head of Legal Engineering and Head of UK and Ireland at Legora. “They describe the task and the agent works out the approach. That is what an operating system for legal work means in practice: one place the work runs, whatever the matter happens to be.”

Brandsmiths, meanwhile, selected the iManage Cloud back in December 2025, before embarking on an implementation project earlier this year with Tiger Eye. A firm-wide launch was completed in June 2026, with the platform now in use by the firm’s 56 members of staff.

Brandsmiths, founded in 2014, has offices in London and Manchester. While specialising in intellectual property (IP) law, the firm also delivers services across sports law, media and entertainment, representing many high-profile, well-known clients including Gordon Ramsay, BMW, Vinted and Microsoft.

Given the firm’s work and renowned client base, Brandsmiths says it needed a secure, trusted platform to protect sensitive data, and support the team as they carry out their high-value legal work.

Profile imageCommenting on selecting iManage and Tiger Eye, Amy Lambert, head of operations at the firm, said: “We’re in a period of continued and accelerating growth at Brandsmiths, so we need our systems and technology to grow with us. iManage stood out because it gives us a strong platform for collaboration, security and knowledge management.

“Choosing the right partner was just as important to us as choosing the technology. Tiger Eye came highly recommended and, from the outset, it was clear that they understood both the legal sector and the importance of change in a growing business. We’ve really valued working with a team who feel like an extension of our own.”
