Justice Anil R. Dave to lead NFSU’s IDDRC as it goes Operational| SCC Times

On 23 August 2026, the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, held the first meeting of the Board of Governors of its International Digital Dispute Resolution Centre (IDDRC) at the NFSU Gandhinagar Campus.

IDDRC was inaugurated on 27 February 2026 by Justice Surya Kant, Chief Justice of India, in the presence of Shri Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Gujarat, and Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the High Court of Gujarat.

IDDRC has been conceived by the Vice Chancellor of NFSU, Padma Shri Dr J.M. Vyas, as a digital-first institution for arbitration and mediation, integrating technology into institutional dispute resolution. Its digital architecture incorporates AI-enabled capabilities and blockchain-integrated systems, with confidentiality, data protection, traceability and auditability forming key elements of its institutional framework.

The first Board of Governors meeting was presided over by Justice Anil R. Dave, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice M. R. Shah, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Rajesh Bindal, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Sonia Gokani, Former Chief Justice, Gujarat High Court; Justice P. P. Bhatt, Former Judge, Gujarat High Court; Ratan Singh, Senior Advocate and Chairman, Society of Construction Law, India

The Board unanimously nominated Justice Dave, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, as the President of IDDRC. The meeting marked an important milestone in the institutional development of IDDRC, with the Board formally declaring the Centre operational and functional as an institutional provider of Arbitration and Mediation services.

With its operationalisation, IDDRC now invites expressions of interest from eminent domain-expert Arbitrators, with an emphasis on professional credibility, relevant experience, and subject-matter expertise.
