About the Organizer
Sama is India’s leading Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) institution, enabling mediation, arbitration, and conciliation entirely online for businesses, government bodies, and individuals.
Since 2019, Sama has facilitated the filing of over 2 crore disputes and the resolution of more than 34 lakh cases, working with a panel of over 3,000 empanelled mediators, arbitrators, and case managers across the country.
About the Session
Sama is hosting a virtual session with Cesar Pereira, President of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), one of the world’s oldest arbitration institutions, established in 1915, with over 18,000 members across 150+ countries.
Topic: How to Build a Trustworthy Arbitral Institution
Cesar will speak on how the CIArb approaches arbitrator appointment, independence, and enforceable ethics, and what this could mean for arbitral practice in India.
About the Speaker
Cesar Pereira is the global president of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) for 2026.
Cesar serves as arbitrator, counsel, or legal expert in disputes involving government contracts, regulated industries, infrastructure, construction, energy and international contracts with experience spanning three languages, four continents and multiple arbitral institutions, national laws and applicable rules.
